This is an important lesson to remember when you’re having a bad day, a bad month, or a shitty year. Things will change: you won’t feel this way forever. And anyway, sometimes the hardest lessons to learn are the ones your soul needs most. I believe you can’t feel real joy unless you’ve felt heartache. You can’t have a sense of victory unless you know what it means to fail. You can’t know what it’s like to feel holy until you know what it’s like to feel really fucking evil. And you can’t be birthed again until you’ve died.

She was filled with a strange wild unfamiliar happiness, and knew that this was love. Twice in her life she had mistaken something else for it. It’s like seeing somebody in the street who you think is a friend, you whistle and wave and run after him, but it is not only not the friend, but not even very like him. A few minutes later the real friend appears in view, and then you can’t imagine how you ever mistook that other person for him.

Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day.

Take a 10-30 minutes walk daily. And while you walk, smile.

Don’t over do. Keep your limits.
Don’t take yourself so seriously. No one else does.
Don’t waste your precious energy on gossip.
Dream more while you are awake.
Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.

Life is too short to waste time hating anyone. Don’t hate others.
Make peace with your past so it won’t spoil the present.
No one is in charge of your happiness except you.

“Your character is based on what you stand for. Your reputation is based on what you fall for.”

My goal in life is simple.
I want to be considered,
by every boy that ever loved me,
the one that got away.

To be happy, it first takes being comfortable being in your own shoes. The rest can work up from there. The hardest situation to stay happy, I think, is when you’re trying to find love, and yourself at the same time. It just doesn’t seem to fit well. So I believe that happiness is being able to wake up and just know that this is what you wanted, and not what somebody else wanted.

It’s not about who you’ve been with, its about who you end up with.
Sometimes the heart doesn’t know what it wants until it finds what it wants.

10 Style Rules to Live By
  1. A full-length mirror is the most important accessory a woman can own.
  2. Do not be afraid to wear color. A woman who walks into a room full of black dresses wearing red, pink or orange is stunning and everyone turns to look.
  3. Trends make everyone look as though they are wearing a uniform. It is best to wear what is most individually flattering and appropriate for the occasion.
  4. A crisp white shirt looks wonderful for the day or evening; every woman should have one they love in their closet.
  5. It’s important to dress for your age. What looked good at 15 will not look good at 40.
  6. Don’t forget to be feminine. Glamour and elegance are always something that attracts attention.
  7. Dress according to your personality.
  8. Your hair and makeup are very important. Women over 40 should maintain short hair.
  9. If you don’t have taste, you will never be stylish. Style is a state of mind. It is how you live, how you wear your clothes, what you read and what you love. It has nothing to do with money.
  10. Be mysterious. Mystery is the most important quality for a woman. Elegance is an attitude.

"I don't understand how a woman can leave the house without fixing herself up a little - if only out of politeness. And then, you never know, maybe that's the day she has a date with destiny. And it's best to be as pretty as possible for destiny."- coco chanel
